GOAT

Did you know that Bill the Goat, the Naval Academy’s mascot, is in the running for Capital One’s Mascot of the Year? There are only four mascots left in the competition (Billy spanked the Georgia Bulldog last week), and this week’s winner competes for the national championship!

This week, Bill the Goat is competing against this hideous rodent-looking thing from Wisconsin.

They claim it’s a badger, but to me it looks more like a hamster with rabies, foam and all.

The Midshipmen need your vote! Last time I checked Bill was ahead by a few hundred votes, so take a second or two and cast your ballot – CLICK HERE.

From Judi in Texas:

“It was a real honor for “Bill the Goat” to be chosen from hundreds of college mascots to be in the 2009 Capital One Mascot Challenge. He has brought great recognition to the U S Naval Academy. The winner of this competition gets $20,000 for their mascot program.

“Bill” finished the 11 weeks of regular voting in 2nd place. He is now in the quarterfinals in a very tight race. “Bill” could really use the support of all the Navy friends and family to win this week and be able to move on to the next round.

“Bill” does not only entertain us at football, basketball and hockey games. He is very involved in community activities and has visited our wounded at Bethesda Naval Hospital.”
