I stumbled on this video the other day after being interviewed by Kevin Miller of KIDO. Kevin is an ardent supporter of the troops and actually traveled to Iraq when the National Guard unit from Idaho was deployed in theater. One of the duties of the Idaho troops was to man the Joint Visitors’ Bureau, which in a previous life was Saddam’s hunting lodge. As a cartoonist traveling with the USO I stayed there twice (not in the Distinguished Visitor’s room, in case you were wondering).
It is interesting that what was once an incredible experience became a memory, and now is part of history – never to be seen again.
