Come on, be honest. You have been somewhere where you didn’t belong, and did something you shouldn’t have done.
A buddy told me the story of how one night, while standing Command Duty Officer (the Commanding Officer’s proxy when the skipper is off the ship), he sneaked into the plush cabin reserved for the Admiral and slipped into his nice, big, comfortable bed.
He was a modern day Goldilocks, if Goldilocks wore a uniform and Papa Bear had stars on his collar.
He awoke with the announcement that the Admiral had come aboard unexpectedly. He scrambled out of bed, straightened up the cabin, and met the Admiral at the quarterdeck.
And he got away with it.
William Wallace once said, “Every man dies. Not every man really lives.” Or at least Mel Gibson said it in the movie, which is good enough for me.
So why am I bringing this up? Because a buddy of mine posted this picture earlier today. It was taken in Kuwait.
I am no photographer, but it seems to me the camera is a little less than 100 meters away from the sign. He risked death by bullet to secure social media immortality.
And he got away with it.
FREEDOM!

Everybody knows rules/laws don’t apply to JOs, PHs, MCs and PAOs!
And apparently retired Army guys who became cartoonists!
