A side of the VP you don’t see on TV

Vice President Biden at the Al Faw Palace in Baghdad (DOD)

I guess Vice President Biden has been on TV most of my adult life, but I have never seen this side of him. He was in Baghdad yesterday and addressed the troops there. The videos are worth watching – the speech takes a dramatic and unexpected turn at around the 8 minute point of the first video.

It is impossible to visit military and veteran hospitals and not be moved by the experience. The Vice President has seen plenty of them and shows that he too has been affected. His message is true – we have a solemn obligation to support our troops not only when they are overseas on deployment, but also when they return home.
